A Slight Twist

Brushed

Thanks for the comments everyone, and I am improved a lot from how I was just after christmas.

Here comes the long story.
The headaches actually started last August but only occured if I crawled on the ground or kneeled and stood up, otherwise I was perfectly fine. But just before christmas it went from periodic to constant and I suffered a couple bouts of vertigo. For the previous 4 months they had treated me for sinus problems but at the beginning of january when it got worse I got sent to an ear nose and throat guy and got a catscan. He said it wasn't the sinuses and sent me to a neurologist.

Well, after another cat scan and an mri he diagnosed the problem as Occipital Neuralgia which is an inflammation of the occipital nerve in the skull. Well I've been on medication and heat treatment and have gradually improved. I went from a month of being barely able to stand because the pain is so great to only have to lie down for a couple hours a day. But I'm still not really able to drive because it starts hurting after a couple miles and am just this week starting to take walks to rebuild my endurance. On tuesday I had a very good day, it was the first day that I've actually felt good rather than just improved. My mom came back from easter in Phoenix and said that it was the first time she's seen me really smiling in months. Unfortunately the last 2 days have not been as good.

My next appointment with the neurologist is in 2 weeks so we'll see what he says.

But hey, I'm just glad I didn't have to do jury duty in my condition. They accepted my excuse :)

My creativity has really been shot with this though. It was hard to even think throughout january. I wish the last photographer standing grand finale had occured either in early december or now. But at least I wasn't at my worst, but I still wasn't able to come up with anything new and had to resort to recreating a shot I had done a few years ago. Alas at least I got a couple votes.

Night Blooming Cereus

This cactus flower bloomed last night under the light of the full moon. These 8 inch blooms only open for one night then wilt away in the morning.

Treasured

This was the only new idea I had for the Last Photographer Standing Grand Finale, it never really worked out how I wanted.
